The Sarasota K-9 Search and Rescue (SSAR) is a group of highly trained volunteers that assist in the location of missing persons.  We are recognized by Sarasota County Emergency Services, Sarasota County Emergency Management, the State of Florida, the Division of Forestry, the Florida Fire Chiefs Association Disaster Response, and FEMA.  Our services may only be formally requested through Sarasota County Emergency Management or the Division of Forestry.

Our Mission

Each member of the Sarasota K-9 Search and Rescue team, as professional volunteers, maintains an integrity and commitment to our fellow mankind.  Our goals are to be organized in our training and skills and to form a strong bond of teamwork to bring about the safest and most positive outcome with each search mission.

Partnering with K-9s to find the lost and serve the community - making a difference.
